Another referral from our great friends at Restoration Plus. They do amazing work and have fantastic clients. This project entailed fixing a small water leak in the kitchen which affected the kitchen, dining room and the great room.
After many discussions and exhausting our search trying to salvage the existing parquet flooring, it was evident that it was just too old and the product could not be found to replace the damaged sections.
The clients mentioned that they would eventually be upgrading the floors to a wider new lighter oak color so they decided to move that timeline up to go ahead and replace all the hardwood flooring in their entire Solana Beach home.
I’m sure you have heard about all the huge shortages and back orders in hardwood flooring and construction in general. Since this is a busy couple with 4 amazing kids, I met up with them several times bringing them every popular color that I could get my hands on that would be available in this decade!
We finally narrowed it down to a product from Reward that would be available in weeks and not months. They chose a great color with natural gray, taupe and caramel tones from the Costa collection called Oak Vasto.

In our discussions about upgrading the baseboards, we discussed that the older wall outlet style was going to be in the middle of the new larger baseboards. They had an electrician raise them several inches and remove about a dozen to give the home a more modern look. If you check out the before and after photos you can really see the difference. They have not finished painting yet but you can still get the idea of how nice it will look when they complete the project.
