When Mike, a dedicated military professional, realized his busy schedule wouldn’t allow him to tackle the extensive flooring project in his Carmel Mountain Ranch home, he turned to us for help. The Challenge: Out with the Old
This home had a mix of outdated hardwood flooring and old Spanish paver tiles throughout the kitchen, hallway, and dining room. Removing these old floors was no small task, but it was necessary to create the seamless and modern look Mike envisioned. The goal was to open up the space, making it more inviting and aesthetically pleasing.
The Solution: In with the New
Understanding Mike’s requirements, we knew we had to provide him with flooring samples that were not only attractive but also durable enough to withstand the wear and tear of a busy family life. After reviewing 10 to 12 samples together, Mike immediately fell in love with the nine-inch wide planks from the Sapphire Collection, specifically in the color Madison. This choice perfectly complemented his home’s decor, adding a touch of elegance and warmth.
The Transformation
The project involved more than just laying down new floors. We carefully removed all the existing hardwood and Spanish paver tiles, which included handling various transitions between different rooms. By doing so, we were able to create a much more cohesive and open space, significantly enhancing the overall feel of the smaller home.
To complete the transformation, we also replaced all the old baseboards with new Coronado style four-inch baseboards. This finishing touch not only added to the aesthetic appeal but also provided a polished and contemporary look.
