When the Stair Nosing Isn’t in Stock

The only obstacle was timing. The distributor had plenty of Mondariz flooring in stock, but the matching stair trim (nosing) was back-ordered. With most flooring products, stair nosings are essential—and waiting on them can delay the entire job.

However, because we work in North San Diego county homes frequently we know the exact profile needed to match their existing false-tread stair edges. We ordered the correct raw nosing material and had our finishing team custom-stain and finish each piece to blend seamlessly with the Mondariz planks. Instead of delaying the project for a month long back order we still completed the complex installation within a few weeks.  

Safe Space for the Kids While We Worked

An added bonus for this family: we had recently completed new flooring in their parents’ home in Carlsbad. That meant the kids had a safe, comfortable place to stay during the project—especially helpful while removing carpet, prepping subfloors, and installing hardwood on the stairs. It also allowed our team to move efficiently and complete the job without disrupting daily routines.
