This is another project where we were called in to replace a failing vinyl plank floor.

Chelsea reached out to us after asking her mother who had installed her beautiful flooring — and she pointed her straight to our team at San Diego Flooring Pros.
When we arrived to inspect the issue, it was immediately clear what went wrong. The previous installer had skipped two critical steps: no 6-mil moisture barrier and no professional floor leveling. This is so sad because they really ruined a nice looking product which could have lasted many years but now goes into the trash.

If you’re seeing edges curling, end joints separating, or areas that move or bounce underfoot — that’s not normal. It’s a sure sign of poor installation, and unfortunately, it only gets worse over time.

We receive calls every week from homeowners asking if we can repair vinyl plank flooring. Too often, the only real solution is to remove the failed material, properly level the subfloor, install 6-mil moisture protection, and then professionally install new, high-quality vinyl plank flooring that’s built to last.

Chelsea couldn’t be happier with her new, lighter, and more stable floor — this flooring from Urban floors new 22mm Grove series not only brightens her home but will perform beautifully for years to come.

She loved it so much that asked if we could also remove the old worn carpet on her stairs and upper hall and replace them with this great vinyl plank flooring in her home in Tierrasanta. We also recommended City View painting to come back in to fill and retexture around the new flooring.
