Nestled in the picturesque city of Carlsbad, this charming Bressi Ranch home, now approaching its 23rd year, recently underwent a stunning transformation. Understanding the need for an updated look, the homeowner partnered with talented professionals to enhance the property’s aesthetics and functionality, creating a space perfectly suited to her retirement lifestyle.
Kitchen Revamp: Form Meets Function
One of the first areas addressed was the kitchen. The homeowner collaborated with a skilled contractor to refresh the space, replacing outdated cabinet doors, incorporating additional shelving, and reconfiguring the layout for improved convenience. The result? A kitchen that seamlessly blends practicality with style—a welcoming hub for both everyday use and entertaining.
Interior Enhancements: A Fresh Palette and Added Privacy
Next on the agenda was a series of cosmetic updates throughout the home. A new, modern color palette was introduced, breathing fresh life into every room. To enhance functionality, a door was added to the study, ensuring greater privacy. Updated lighting fixtures and other subtle touches completed the makeover, expertly handled by Aryan at ARC Construction.
A Ground-Level Transformation: Open Concept Living
To create a more open and inviting ambiance, significant updates were made to the home’s flooring. Our team stepped in to tackle this essential phase of the project, addressing the outdated, chiseled-edge travertine flooring popular in the 1990s. While it had its heyday, the rustic style no longer suited modern tastes.
Using advanced techniques, we ground down the uneven travertine surfaces and prepped the area for a new look. In the living and dining spaces, we removed the old dark hardwood flooring and filled in the space with a solid rubber surface, ensuring it matched the height of the travertine. This adjustment not only enhanced the visual flow but also provided a seamless foundation for the next step.
The Perfect Finish: Stone Powder Core Flooring
To complete the transformation, we installed the stunning Northern Lights color from Essen Flooring’s stone powder core line. This lighter, more natural-looking flooring brought the entire downstairs area together, and with the wider 9” planks and longer 5ft lengths achieved the open, airy vibe the homeowner envisioned.
