We’re excited to share another fantastic project that came our way thanks to the power of word-of-mouth referrals. This time, our team had the privilege of working with the Cygnet Theatre, brought to us by the production manager Craig, who was referred by Mike after we completed a similar project for the Moonlight Amphitheatre rehearsal studio in Vista.
Many of the talented actors and production staff collaborate between the Moonlight and Cygnet theatres, so when the Cygnet Theatre decided to transform a large multipurpose building into a dedicated rehearsal space, they trusted us to deliver a performance-ready flooring solution.

The project called for a top-quality dance surface that could handle the rigorous demands of daily rehearsals for upcoming theater productions. After evaluating several options, the Cygnet team chose the same trusted Actiflex dance flooring system we previously installed in Vista—this time in an elegant oak finish that perfectly balances beauty and durability.

One unique challenge on this project was addressing the significant height transition to the open rehearsal space. To create a seamless flow and ensure dancer safety, we custom-built several large ramps, carefully designed and installed to blend into the new flooring.

To complete the look, the Cygnet team opted for bold, dark black baseboards around the perimeter of the space. The contrast beautifully frames the warm oak floor, adding a striking visual edge to this already impressive rehearsal area.

Stay tuned for part 2 when we finish installing the main stage platform they will start building the set and begin productions at the brand new performing arts center in Liberty Station, Pt Loma.

We’re honored to have played a part in bringing this vision to life and proud that our flooring solutions continue to support the arts community across San Diego. If your performance space, dance studio, or rehearsal hall needs a flooring upgrade that’s as functional as it is beautiful, we’d love to help.
