One of our long-time contractor partners recently brought us in on a truly meaningful renovation project. Their client had an older home that needed more than just a cosmetic update — the goal was to rebuild the space so it would be more functional, accessible, and ADA compliant for long-term living.

This was a full transformation from the ground up.

The project began with removing the aging wall materials, outdated flooring, and a significant portion of the existing subfloor. From there, the contractor completely reworked the interior layout to create a home that would be easier and safer to navigate.

Bathrooms were rebuilt with accessibility in mind, doorways were widened, and several walls were opened up to create a much more spacious, open-concept kitchen and living area. The result was a home that feels brighter, larger, and far more functional for everyday life.

Once the structural work was complete, our team stepped in to prepare the foundation for the new floors. Because accessibility requires smooth and even transitions throughout the home, proper floor leveling was critical. We carefully leveled the entire floor system to ensure a flat, stable surface that would allow wheelchairs, walkers, and everyday foot traffic to move seamlessly from room to room.

For the finished flooring, the homeowners selected a beautiful commercial-grade luxury vinyl plank from the Urban Floor Grove Series. This product was an ideal choice for the project because it combines durability, water resistance, and low maintenance with a warm, natural wood appearance.

The finished result is a home that not only looks incredible but is designed to support comfort, safety, and accessibility for years to come.

Projects like this are especially rewarding because they show how thoughtful design, skilled construction, and quality materials can come together to create a space that truly improves the way people live in their homes.
