Ken and YuLinda were looking for a home that would allow them to have flexibility to have family members live with them without disrupting their busy lifestyle. They selected a beautiful 5,000 square foot home in Alta Del Mar. It was actually one of the model homes for the development.

The only problem with model homes is that they use too many finishes to try to showcase new styles and trends. Although the home was only a few years old, those fashions were entirely too distracting and did not create the peaceful environment that they needed.

The home included herringbone hardwood, herringbone porcelain tile, different directions of hardwood, hardwood borders and several bathrooms with different color tiles in each one.

They reached out to some of their neighbors that recommended a few vendors who could help with their flooring ideas and after a couple of discussions and several sample selections later they decided to have San Diego Flooring Pros remove almost all of the existing flooring with the exception of the kitchen and a few bathrooms.

We had to spend quite a bit of time preparing and re-leveling many of the areas that went from tile flooring to a new beautiful hardwood floor.

They selected a very nice 7” wide European oak hardwood flooring called castle oak. Since the home is not that old and they loved the color of flooring, they wanted to pick a similar color that blended well with all of their furnishings and current decor.

As you can see, the transition from busy to blended is much more peaceful and exactly what they were looking for. Let us know if you know anyone buying a home that needs some help with their flooring options. We would be happy to help.
