We had a customer referral from one of our great clients in Carmel Valley.
They came to us looking for something other than the light colored white oak which is so popular right now. It just doesn’t always fit every neighborhood and they wanted to keep a more traditional timeless look with this home in Carmel Valley.
They are very happy with this really nice porcelain entry that was done by the builder and like how it looks and wears in the main entries of the home so they decided to keep that part.
We looked at quite a few samples and they took copious notes about every aspect of the job. After several weeks of deliberation, they finally homed in on a really nice natural walnut flooring from the canyons collection which features an elegant smooth ultra-matte urethane finish that is easy to maintain and will last for many years.
At 5 inches the width is wide but not too modern and really blends with the decor of the home. They were also patient enough to wait several weeks for a backorder on the stair trim molding so that we could complete the project but they think it was worth the wait, they look gorgeous.
We installed the Walnut hardwood flooring throughout the entire upstairs except the tile bathrooms and they really love the flow of the open concept.
To save a little on costs they will be painting the side trim to blend with the new flooring as opposed to removing all the spindles and outside trim work.
