One of our favorite parts of this business is working alongside other trusted local professionals. This project came to us through another referral from our friends at City View Painting, and as always, Tony and his crew did an outstanding job transforming the home with fresh, modern paint colors. Their work created the perfect canvas for the next phase of this home’s makeover.
Our clients, a young family excited to make this 30-year-old home their own, purchased what many would call a cosmetic fixer-upper. With plenty of vision and energy, they tackled much of the demolition themselves, removing all of the existing flooring, baseboards, and door casings to prepare the home for its complete flooring renovation.
Once the space was ready, our team stepped in to handle the critical foundation work. We completed extensive floor preparation and leveling to ensure their new flooring would perform beautifully for years to come. Proper subfloor preparation is one of the most important steps in any flooring installation, and it’s something we never cut corners on.
For the main living areas downstairs, the homeowners selected Melbourne Ash from InStride Flooring—a premium 9-inch-wide luxury vinyl plank. This flooring offers exceptional stability underfoot while delivering the warm, contemporary look they envisioned. Its clean, natural tones perfectly modernize the home while complementing the fresh paint throughout.
To complete the updated look, we installed new 6-inch baseboards and 3½-inch door casings throughout the home. These larger, more modern trim profiles instantly elevate the home’s appearance and pair beautifully with the new flooring.
Upstairs, comfort was the priority. The family chose a durable Berber loop carpet in a versatile blended color designed to help disguise everyday wear, especially in high-traffic areas like the hallway and stairs. It’s a practical choice that combines long-lasting performance with a clean, inviting appearance.
We managed to capture just a few photos as the family was moving into their new home, and you could feel their excitement as they prepared to begin this next chapter in Rancho Peñasquitos. Seeing a home transformed into a space where families can build memories is exactly why we love what we do.
