Emily was trying to find someone who could remove her dance floor as she was having issues with the subfloor not being level and excess moisture coming up from the slab. She reached out to the building owner who we just happened to do some work for last summer on his amazing spec home.
He got in touch with me to see if this was a project that we would consider taking on. Once I found out that it is actually the studio that my wife dances at, I couldn’t say no.
The owner was able to have his crew remove dance floor A & B and build new walls to create a new larger dance room B and create a new smaller studio C. As you tell this was a complicated project with a lot of moving parts.
Once the floor was removed it was so wet that we had to let it air out for an entire day. Then we came in and ground the surface clean to let it breath for another day before applying an epoxy sealer to protect her floor in the future.
We then got to work adding a ton of leveling compound to bring the subfloor within specifications set by the dance floor manufacturer. While waiting for the leveling compound to dry we re-installed the older studio B dance floor into the new studio C.
Next, we reinstalled the large studio A dance floor panels, then installed her brand new dance floor into the newly enlarged studio B.
Emily’s comments say it all. She was extremely happy and it was my pleasure to help quarterback this project with her.
If you’re looking for a great dance studio check her out!
Performing Arts Workshop Testimonial
Dave and his crew worked magic on our floors! I could not believe how quickly and well, especially considering the scope of work, the floors were finished. The concrete was severely out of level and moisture was a significant issue. San Diego Flooring Pros took care of business and made sure our our dancers would have a quality floor to dance on for years to come! Thank you Dave and crew!! We’re so grateful!!
